Next month, Behind The Frame: VR will be adapted from the flatscreen narrative adventure to Quest, SteamVR and PSVR 2, featuring visuals inspired by Studio Ghibli.
Developed by Silver Lining Games, Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery was first introduced two years ago and draws direct inspiration from director Hayao Miyazaki. Described as a ‘paint-and-click’ adventure, players will follow aspiring artist Amber as she relives her past, facing the challenges of everyday life while striving to complete her masterpiece.
While painting in VR is not a new concept, with apps such as Paint Fiesta, Vermillion, and Painting VR, Behind The Frame: VR takes a unique approach with its narrative focus and puzzle solving. Here is the official description provided by publisher Akapura Games:
Behind the Frame: VR tells the story of an aspiring artist who is on the verge of completing the final piece for her gallery submission. Guide her brush strokes and solve various puzzles to help her finish her masterpiece, while dealing with her grumpy neighbor and his troublesome cat. As her painting takes shape, a poignant tale of fate and artistic expression unfolds behind seemingly unrelated yet familiar moments.
Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery VR will be available on September 14 for SteamVR, Quest, and PSVR 2.
