VR Surgical Planning Solution AVATAR MEDICAL Receives FDA Clearance

AVATAR MEDICAL helps surgeons better prepare for their procedures by using VR representations of patients. Patient portraits are generated instantly from CT scans or MRI images using the underlying proprietary technology. These avatars can then serve as an invaluable tool in pre-operative planning and can also be displayed during surgery.

According to AVATAR MEDICAL, more than 100 surgeons from 20 different hospitals and universities, including UMass, CUNY and Columbia, have benefited from the company's solutions. To date, it has been used for case studies, student education, and patient engagement, resulting in 6 medical publications.
