Apple reportedly has no plans to make or support VR controllers for the Vision Pro
Vision Pro's content includes a range of standard Apple ecosystem and standard content browsing apps, with the studio showcasing just one VR app - Rec Room, a popular social VR app that supports most major VR headsets (no PSVR 2 support for now) , as well as gaming consoles, desktops, iOS and Android mobile devices.

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, one of the leading journalists covering unreleased Apple tech products, believes that Apple has no plans for either a dedicated controller or support for third-party VR accessories.
When the $3,500 headset launches in early 2024, Vision Pro users will have to rely on its built-in hand and eye tracking capabilities, which worked very well in our real-world experience. It also uses Siri-based voice input, Bluetooth and Mac keyboard support, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox controllers to play traditional flat games.
However, for VR gaming, hand and eye tracking lacks the haptic feedback needed for many game types, meaning that VR games running on the Vision Pro may need to be overhauled to ensure that hand tracking is fully utilized.
If Apple sticks to its internal plan of not supporting VR controllers, it will essentially shift the focus of development away from VR gaming and towards the AR capabilities of the headset. For Apple, this is where the "real" business opportunity lies.
Danny Unger, founder and head of pioneering VR studio Cloudhead Games, explains that the move is designed to provide a strong development base for future Apple AR glasses, which will be cheaper and more capable of replacing the current bulky mixed reality headsets, making them an alternative to standard smartphones.
