Verizon and The Metropolitan Museum of Art Launch Replica Project

Each wearable piece in Replica is inspired by artworks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's vast collection of 1.5 million objects; 37 selected artworks from over 30 galleries spanning nine curatorial areas Items include the American Wing, Egyptian art, European paintings, and Asian art, among others.

Important works include:
– Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat (1887);
– Statue of Anubis (332-30 BC);
– Heads of Perseus and Medusa (1804-1806);
– Prince holding a falcon (circa 1820);
– marble capitals and capitals decorated with images of the Sphinx (c. 530 BC);
– Stretched Jaguar (1906-1907; cast in 1926);
– Rabbit vase (late 16th century);
– armor (Zukinnari Kabuto) (16th century);
– Armor of King Henri II of France (c.1555).

After entering the app, visitors can find interesting and easy-to-understand clues on the digital map, guiding them to the various exhibition halls and works of the museum. After the artwork is scanned in real life, each item becomes a collectible copy that can be transferred to the Roblox platform. These items will appear in the user's inventory for their avatar to use as items and accessories.

Included in the Roblox experience is a virtual version of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where users can explore the museum using their newly acquired avatar items. Each Replica item is accompanied by information and details about the item and its history.

Replica is a user-friendly and engaging experience designed for kids and young adults. The app employs strong visuals, cues, and short, easy-to-digest educational moments to help users through their journey, powered byUNIT9, Verizon, Roblox,Ode to JoyPartners with the Metropolitan Museum of Art to provide design and creation.
