Next month, Twistex will bring the mixed reality puzzle game to Quest, and a SteamVR version will also be released in the near future.
Twistex, developed by Middle Man Games, is a drop-block puzzle game in which the player rotates a cylindrical grid and fills it with shapes. Two modes will be launched when the game is released. In the "Circle Placement" mode, players need to fill the entire ring with blocks to clear the blocks. If the block reaches the top, the game is over. The Color Placement mode is a slower paced mode where players need to connect eight or more blocks of the same color to clear the group.
Both modes feature 24 levels, an endless mode, and three difficulty settings, and players' scores will be shared on an online leaderboard. existMeta Quest PlatformAbove, Twistex supports mixed reality games, and Middle Man says shaded objects are affected by real-time lighting.
On SteamVR, Twistex will include non-mixed reality environments, which the developer confirmed will also be coming to the Quest platform later. Post-launch plans also include "more game types, modes, and levels." As for other platforms, Middle Man said they are "already looking, but haven't made a decision yet."
