Meanwhile, the company says the new library will help nursing and medical schools, hospitals, and the Department of Defense (DoD) use holographic medical images to teach anatomy and pathophysiology.

According to GigXR,DICOM XR It can provide comprehensive insight into disease and injury in diagnostic imaging to help medical and nursing students and professionals better assess and diagnose real patients. The app also adds pathophysiology (the study of how a disease, injury or other condition affects a patient) to the process of reading and interpreting exam results by displaying holographic images with full anatomy.

Multiple learners can view medical imaging holograms from any angle or slice of the world, resize or rotate them at will, and collaboratively view or hide abnormalities, pathology, and injuries. Teachers and learners simply log in to the Gig Immersive Learning platform to access the DICOM XR Library and its growing catalog of applications, which present real-world examples. Using a mixed reality (MR) head-mounted display or any Android or iOS smartphone or tablet, learners can observe and interact in their own safe failure environment.
