Arcade Legend Adds VR Axe Throwing

Arcade Legend is adding VR ax throwing in a free update this week.

Released last year, Arcade Legend lets players build their own arcade machines using copyrighted games like Light Speed and Balloon Strike. After rolling out updates like public multiplayer lobbies and Rollerball DLC, developer LAI Games is now teaming up with the Backyard Ax Throwing League (BATL) to introduce ax throwing. You can play alone or with up to 4 friends, and you can watch the trailer below:

This update contains 10 unlockable axes, including five throwing games: "Standard BATL" for high score competitions, "Classic Target" with smaller scoring rings, "Tic Tac Toe" for head-to-head battles ", while "Bullseye Gale" will gradually narrow the target. Finally, Ultre BATL is an official International Ax Throwing Federation (IATF) target, but "bigger than real life"

In a press release, LAI Games revealed that a further update to the Ax Throwing expansion is "coming soon". These include more yet-to-be-announced game modes, a new "axe track" on the arcade jukebox, areas to practice aiming at randomly generated targets, official IATF axes, and BATL-themed avatar outfits and accessories.

Arcade Legend is available now on Oculus Quest, with a free ax throwing update coming on August 24th. A SteamVR version is "coming soon".
