Smash Drums is getting a free mixed reality update, exclusive to the Quest platform.
Smash Drums is a rhythm drumming game from developer PotamWorks SAS that was released nearly two years ago. Following on from previous updates like the classic mode and new songs, Smashed Reality uses the Quest platform's scene model capture tool to create dynamically destructible stages. Three environments are initially supported - Rock Show, Crater and Moon, you can watch the details below:
"As the player progresses through the song, the world around them gradually becomes more destroyed, in sync with the music and the player's powerful hits," the studio confirmed in a press release. "If the mood is up, players can grab ( and squeeze) Drumsticks with lightning charges to destroy any wall at will."
PotamWorks SAS developer Julien "Potam" Potamianos called Smashed Reality a Quest exclusive "for at least the foreseeable future." In addition to color and resolution differences,Quest 2andQuestProThe versions are exactly the same. Quest 3-exclusive improvements are planned, details yet to be revealed. There are also plans for a paid DLC of songs from "Legendary Rock Band".
Smash Drums is out now on Quest andPICOavailable on . As for Smashed Reality, PotamWorks SAS plans to roll out the MR update "in the next few months" after the closed beta.
