This year's Meta Connect conference is scheduled for September 27. Meta announced the Quest 2 and Quest Pro at Connect, with them shipping a few weeks later.
For example, Quest 2 was announced on September 16, 2020, and then began shipping on October 13, while Quest Pro was announced on October 11, 2022, and then began shipping on October 25.
This means Meta Quest 3 will likely be announced on September 27th this year, with shipping starting on October 10th.
This isn't the first time Quest 3 details have leaked from premature retail pages. In June of this year, a Best Buy page may have confirmed the exact resolution data previously obtained through data mining, but Meta has not yet released the data.
Last week, an unofficial Quest 3 unboxing video was posted anonymously on Reddit, showing off its packaging contents and glasses-enabled features.
However, Meta has officially confirmed some Quest 3 specs and features.
The company says the headset is thinner than the current 40% thanks to pancake lenses; the GPU is more than twice as powerful; and it has a dual-color camera and a depth sensor for mixed reality.
The base Quest 3 model has 128GB of storage and is priced at $500. Meta said it will also offer higher storage capacity versions, but has not yet disclosed storage capacity and pricing.
