When we started developing the GAZZLERS game, we did consider incorporating co-op into the game. However, we quickly realized that we should be focusing on enemies, weapons, and exile design, and in the end it was just a matter of choosing the right direction for our size and resources.
Our leaderboards will still be part of the game, so there will still be a social element. We love multiplayer games and we will definitely develop some in the future, but for our first game we decided to shift our focus to a design that we felt was more important to the title.
The Steam page now describes the game as a "rail-based arcade shooter with an Exile-inspired encounter system" in which you will "complete challenges, collect scraps, upgrade skills, and make the pilgrimage again to discover new lands, enemies, and arms!"
