Citadel is an FPS adventure game built in Horizon Worlds using the platform's upcoming new creator tools.
实际上,Meta将Citadel描述为一款“流氓风格的动作冒险解谜平台射击游戏”,可以单人或与朋友合作进行游戏。
Currently, third-party Horizon creators must build worlds entirely in VR, using tracking controllers to place and manipulate basic colored shapes, and then using a spatial visualization programming system to add dynamic features. But this leads to widespread ridicule of the raw, simple-looking graphical style in screenshots that look primitive outside of VR.
Citadel is the second game built using two new tools: textured 3D asset import from desktop software and TypeScript, a popular JavaScript-based language.
The first game, a six-player free-to-play shooter called Super Rumble, was released in July.Super Rumble was also the first Horizon world available in closed beta for mobile and web.
In announcing Super Rumble, Meta said that the game was created by a new in-house game studio called Ouro Interactive, and that it will be one of a number of "signature games" from Ouro and select third-party studios that will be released on Horizon over the next six months. One of many.
We have contacted Meta to ask if Citadel is also developed by Ouro and if it supports both mobile and web.
Meta has yet to make the new tool available to regular creators and has yet to set a release date. That could be announced at the company's annual Connect conference, which is scheduled for Sept. 27 this year.
