Hellsweeper VR developer Mixed Realms promises to address PSVR 2 visual issues and outlines future updates in a post-launch roadmap.

Hellsweeper VR launches today on most major VR platforms, inPSVR 2The version faced significant criticism for its visuals. in a newstatement, Mixed Realms explained that the team had begun addressing these issues ahead of release, writing that "this is not a flaw of any platform, but rather the result of poor timing and decision-making on our part as a studio."

Despite the graphical issues, our choice to release the game on PSVR2 was influenced by a variety of factors: obligations, gameplay decisions, and the challenge of supporting cross-platform play between different devices. Our initial optimism closer to launch resulted in compromises to maintain our vision.

We've chosen to present the core combat experience first, with the promise of graphical enhancements post-launch. We were faced with a choice: just port over the graphics from Quest 2, or pursue the detailed accuracy of the PCVR model. We chose the latter, even though it temporarily compromised rendering resolution.

Mixed Realms inPost-launch roadmapTwo planned updates are detailed in that will introduce both PSVR 2 and Quest graphics updates. The Q4 2023 update will include a new "Betrayal" boss, more blessings, new weapons, and an increase in co-op roulette and tribute. The update in the first quarter of 2024 will add a second new boss "Wrath" and more content will be added.
