The physics-based combat sandbox game "Blade & Sorcery" plans to fully launch a PC VR version early next year, five years after entering early testing.
The game is developed by Warpfrog, a developer atSteamThe final update plan for Blade & Sorcery is outlined above. Version 1.0 specifically adds the "Crystal Hunt" game mode with progression, original dungeon biomes, and loot collection. Different characters can be created who start with nothing and gradually become more powerful. Gradually unlock magic skills and skill tree branches through "Crystal Shards" and "Crystal Cores".
Crystal Hunters tells a story about the Dagar, an ancient and mysterious race, through environmental storytelling as you explore their dungeons. Warpfrog said that anyone who has played "Outpost" will have an idea of this. "Unlike the outposts, which were designed to be very medieval-inspired, Dagar Dungeon required full novelistic art direction to create a new, ancient and mysterious feel," the team said.
In addition, other updates to version 1.0 include the addition of advanced armor and 37 additional weapons. In terms of new swords, axes, polearms, staffs and arrow types, Blade & Sorcery brings the total number of weapons to 75 (excluding MODs). The Ruins Sandbox map will also receive layout changes and visual updates, while more quality-of-life improvements are planned.
Blade & Sorcery is currently available in early beta on SteamVR, and Warpfrog says its "current estimated release date" is the first quarter of 2024, but that's not guaranteed. We will continue to update you as soon as we have more news.
