Skydance Interactive plans to release Arashi: Castles of Sin – Final Cut on PSVR 2, PC VR and Quest headsets on December 5.
In September of this year, Skydance announced November 16 as a release date, but it was changed to December a few weeks later.
As far as Quest models go, Skydance's release only specifically mentions the Quest 2 in relation to a November release date (although looking at cross-compatibility, the Quest Pro will also be supported by default). This Final Cut version of "Arashi: Castles of Sin" will upgrade the previous PSVR exclusive game, providing an upgraded version that mixes stealth and sword combat gameplay.
Last month at Gamescom, we got a hands-on look at what this new version of Arashi would look like on PSVR 2. Overall, we enjoyed our time with the game but found that it was limited in a few key areas in the transition from the previous generation to the current generation headset. We thought it was an interesting upgrade, but was plagued by the same issues as the previous generation:
Despite these issues, there's still an interesting game to be found here - one that perhaps many people didn't experience when it was first released. The original PSVR version of Arashi wasn't perfect, and this "definitive" Final Cut seems to be too. Unfortunately, these disappointing issues from the previous generation still exist, but I'm still looking forward to the final release. Hopefully Skydance and Endeavor will make further tweaks before the game's release later this year.
