iFixit对Meta的新款头戴显示器进行了拆解,以评估其可维修性并了解内部结构。
Compared to the Quest 2, the Quest 3 has a thinner 40% headset thanks to the use of flat lenses with a much shorter gap between them. The Quest 3 also has a larger battery - 19.44Wh, compared to the Quest 2's 14Wh - to power a more powerful chipset and sensor suite, including two color cameras, four tracking cameras and a depth projector.
iFixit's teardown shows that the thinner headset and larger battery means that when the front cover is removed, the battery takes up almost all of the internal component space. The Quest 3 headset weighs 397 grams (not including the face interface and straps), and the battery plays a significant part in that weight.
一些其他的头戴显示器,如Quest Pro和PICO 4,将电池安装在带子的后衬上,以减轻对面部的压力,而Apple VisionPro则有一个外部连接的电池,完全解放了头部的压力。
iFixit also tore down the Quest Pro last year. Interestingly, they found that the Quest 3's depth projector fit perfectly into the empty slot that was supposed to be on the Quest Pro, which Meta removed months before release. iFixit reports that the cable even matches the Quest Pro's on-board connector.
iFixit gave the Quest 3 a repairability score of 4/10, citing a lack of repair manuals, spare parts or repair-oriented design. We highly recommend watching the full teardown video for an interesting and detailed look at the components and internal engineering of Meta’s new headset:
