The release of Absolutely Horror on console and PSVR 2 has been postponed indefinitely due to "unforeseen challenges" and a recent office fire.
The game was released for PC three years ago and was originally planned for console and PSVR 2. It was later postponed to Halloween due to a fire in the studio's office building. In a new statement, Kinetic Games explained that the team was still adapting to the new remote working environment and setting up a new office, but that these factors coupled with "the unforeseen challenges of adapting to a console game" impacted release plans.
according toSteam updates, you can find the statement below.
In addition, in preparation for the launch of PlayStation VR2, we have been carefully reviewing the game's performance and optimizing all maps to ensure a seamless experience for all console players. In this regard, we had to completely redesign the Maple Lodge Campsite. This decision, while time-consuming for our art team, was necessary in order to provide the best gaming experience.
While we hope to be able to bring you a special launch event during our Halloween event, the complexity of the challenges we currently face means we need more time. We will keep you updated on our progress and provide a revised release date once we have more information to share. We are working hard to minimize the impact of this delay and we would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support. We promise that when Absolutely Horror of Ghosts releases on consoles, it'll be worth the wait.
The Halloween event planned for October 26th involves crafting a potion in the campground cauldron, completed after finding the recipe card. Completing this mission will earn you a new ID badge and trophy.
Absolute Fear of Ghosts is now available in PC VRSteam Early Access.
