The 7th Guest VR joins the growing list of Quest 3 games offering sharper resolution and graphical improvements.

Developed by Vertigo Games, The 7th Guest VR reimagines the classic 90's point-and-click adventure game. Released last month on most major VR platforms, it now receives aHalloween UpdateThe increase in the number ofMany bug fixes. While an "unforeseen issue" caused Vertigo to temporarily roll back the patch for PSVR 2, the update adds new improvements for Quest 3 players.

We checked out this upgrade straight away, recording gameplay of The 7th Guest VR on our own headsets. Here's the starting foyer scene on the Quest 3, and you can see how the video capture of the volumetric lighting looks:

As a comparison, this is the same foyer scene recorded on Quest 2.

In our recent review of The 7th Guest VR, we liked Vertigo's revamped version, likening it to "an enchanted evening out at your local playground," but criticized the "frustrating" puzzles and interaction issues.

Vertigo Games summons The 7th Guest's characteristic '90s adventure game charm in this VR adaptation, reimagining it as a compelling, nuanced mystery that feels right at home in the medium. I found myself plagued by a few frustrating puzzles and tension-busting interaction issues, but the story promise and consistent visual grandeur kept me engaged.
