(XR Navigation Network November 20, 2023)apple最初在今年6月发布了首款XR头显VisionPro,但没有公布具体的发售日期,只表示预计在2024年年初率先登陆美国市场。现根据Bloomberg, Apple once hoped to release it in January, but has now postponed the date to March. Of course, March next year still belongs to the beginning of the year.

Reports pointed out that logistical issues were one of the reasons for delaying the release, and distribution plans are still being prepared. It is worth mentioning that Bloomberg added that visionOS is expected to be complete in January next year.

Bloomberg: Vision Pro launch delayed from January 2024 to March

Bloomberg pointed out that Apple originally hoped to release Vision Pro in January next year, but due to logistical issues and other issues, the shipment date of the device has been postponed to March. However, the report did not further explain the specific logistics issues.

According to CEO Cook’s previous statements, Apple will mainly sell customized Vision Pro headsets in offline stores, first in major metropolitan areas in the United States, and then slowly promote them to other regions.

Since Vision Pro requires customization, especially the lenses. Overlay requirements are unknown, so stocking the Vision Pro will be a complex undertaking.

Earlier reports stated that Apple plans to bring selected U.S. retail store employees to Cupertino, California in the "first few months" of 2024 and provide them with specialized training in selling Vision Pro headsets. The activity is mainly to introduce Vision Pro to retail employees and the related complex sales process. Trained employees will be familiar with the use of equipment, its advantages and selling points, and key sales techniques.

However, delaying to March still fits the "early of the year" category, and Apple often releases events in the spring. It is worth mentioning that Bloomberg added that visionOS is expected to be complete in January next year. In other words, Apple store employees can use the complete system to demonstrate this space device that marks the future to potential consumers.
