The new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset in the Quest 3 has more than twice the powerful GPU as the Quest 2, and some developers are already using it to achieve significantly better "console-quality" graphics. Meta appears to be planning a "Quest 3 Lite" for next year, which will be priced similarly to the Quest 2 and will likely offer the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset. If successful, developers may focus less on optimizing the game's graphics and performance on the Quest 2.

While the Quest 3 is significantly more expensive than the Quest 2, in our review we described it as an "excellent VR headset," and we expect it to hold its own against similarly priced competition for years to come.
