Microsoft Word、Excel和PowerPoint现已在Meta Quest商店上线。
Their status as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) means that they are essentially just a more convenient way to access these Microsoft 365 apps than bookmarking them in the Quest browser, and will not function without an active Internet connection.
As PWAs, they open as 2D panels in the standard Quest homepage interface. This means they can be one of three 2D applications you run, and your existing options of traversing or virtual home environment as a background will be honored. It also means that Bluetooth physical keyboards are fully supported and you will see supported tracking keyboards in VR mode.
As with using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint over the web on any other platform, you'll need to purchase an active Microsoft 365 subscription for $7 per month.
The Microsoft Office suite is coming to the Quest platform just as the company is also bringing its Xbox cloud gaming platform. Both services were originally announced with Quest Pro at last year's Meta Connect 2022, but it actually took a year to ship.
Also announced at Connect 2022 as coming to Quest is Windows 365, a service that streams a virtual full-fledged Windows 11 PC from the cloud for a subscription fee.This will be the most impactful productivity feature for Quest to date, as it will effectively open up access to PC apps and not just web apps,... However, there is no updated timetable for arrival.
