Varjo Aero(Varjo艾洛)是该公司的第一款也是唯一一款面向消费者的头戴式设备,目前已停售。Aero是一款连接至电脑的虚拟现实头盔,于2021年推出,在消费marketIt has the highest angular resolution on the Until last year, the Pimax Crystal sat alongside it.While all of Varjo's previous helmets were enterprise-oriented, the Aero is the company's new attempt to carry out consumer-oriented products.

The helmet had been priced at $1,990 on the market until last September when it was reduced to $990. It's now clear that it was a clearance sale.

The Aero features a 2880 x 2720 pixel per eye LCD screen with aspherical lenses and eye tracking for automatic pupil adjustment and gaze rendering in supported software.

Like many other PC headsets (such as the Bigscreen Beyond), the Varjo Aero requires SteamVRThe tracking base station (not included), nor any of the controllers. This means that if you have not purchased these accessories before, the total cost of purchase is $2,600, compared to the reduced price of $1,600.

In our review of the Varjo Aero, we praised the helmet's stunning visual clarity, precise line-of-sight tracking, and the comfort afforded by its hybrid halo strap design.

However, we criticized the distracting anamorphic distortion, as well as the unnatural shape of the field of view (the bottom has a rigid horizontal cutoff), and the lack of a built-in microphone.

Due to its high price tag, the Varjo Aero failed to gain enough user adoption to even be listed in the VR section of the Steam Hardware Survey, and thus remains in the "Other" section, which accounted for 1.19 percent of SteamVR users last December.

Varjo recently unveiled its new XR-4 series of headsets, which start at $3,990 and promise a mixed reality experience that is "virtually indistinguishable" from natural vision. While the XR-4 is currently only sold to corporations and governments, Varjo says it plans to allow individuals to purchase them in the future.
