Stilt, which will launch on most major VR headsets next month, adds life to VR platformers.
By Rekt GamesDeveloped by Rekt Games, Stilt is a colorful adventure game inspired by classic platformers. In order to get through the levels, you'll need "quick reflexes and problem-solving skills," and will be tasked with collecting lost gifts and stamps and navigating your way through abysses, avoiding traps and repelling enemies as you go.
Stilt also features four multiplayer PvP modes. "Smack-em-all!" lets you send your opponent into the ocean. "Area Bash" is described as testing your sensitivity within ever-changing boundaries. "Electric Tag" lets you avoid getting hit, while "Balloon Hunt" pokes as many balloons as possible. There's also an interactive lobby where you can roam freely.
Recently, we've seen an increase in competition for XR platformers. Last month, Yellow Springs: the Asclepius Chronicles took the genre into an interesting mixed reality mode, and Stilt will also face competition from Max Mustard in March. Developed by Toast Interactive (developers of Richie's Plank Experience), Max Mustard puts you in the role of an assisting protagonist, similar to Space Robot Rescue Mission and Tundra.
