Meta CTO accuses Google of being despicable, trying to pick Meta fruit when it has nothing to offer in AR/VR

Now, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth seems to have given reasons for rejecting Google's unsolicited request for a partnership. Among other things, he publicly stated inThreadsAccusing Google of a despicable strategy against the AR/VR industry.
Android XR is Google's new software platform for virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality headsets. According to a recent report from The Information, Google and Meta held a meeting late last year in which "Google suggested Meta become a partner for Android XR."
The report notes that Google has said that Meta's headset will be able to access Play Store apps if Meta is willing to engage in a more formal partnership on Android XR. Additionally, a formal partnership could also involve Meta contributing to the development of Android XR.
However, Meta rejected Google's unsolicited offer. In the community, some believe that now that Google has taken the initiative to extend an olive branch to Meta, Meta is instead being patronizing and seems to be interested in taking advantage of the opportunity to ask for more benefits, so it doesn't really fit with the open source and open door strategy that this company is touting.
For this, Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth doesn't agree, and has publicly accused Google of a despicable strategy against the AR/VR industry.
