The developers of Walkabout Mini Golf are making a Wallace & Gromit miniature golf course full of silly contraptions.
The upcoming course is being developed by Mighty Coconut in collaboration with Wallace & Gromit creator Aardman, another successful collaboration after they released courses based on the classic Jim Henson film Labyrinth and Cyan's landmark video game Enigma in 2022.In 2023, developer Mighty Coconut also partnered with the arts organization Meow Wolf to explore mechanics such as portals, sphere adjustments, multispheres, and pocket universes.
For the developers at Walkabout, Wallace & Gromit offers a new scenario to explore in the context of miniature golf. Loyal fans of the Wallace & Gromit series can putt at the unit-filled home at 62 West Wallaby Street.
Just this week, Mighty Coconut released Ice Lair, in which frozen beams and hot plates dramatically change the gameplay and physics of Walkabout. The developers have laid out a plan to release an expansive new course every six weeks. Each new course seems to round out or expand the studio's area creation capabilities, the most recent examples of which we've documented in detail via in-depth tour videos, including the sprawling desert of Zerzura,AtlantisTranquil waters, andAlfheimer (city in Germany)Bright forest.
The upcoming $4.99 Wallace & Gromit Expanded Course will be available on a range of devices including Quest 2, 3, and Pro, PSVR 2, Steam, PICO headset, and Walkabout Mini Golf: Pocket Edition, which is currently being tested on iOS devices.
Wallace & Gromit will be the game's 27th course, with Ice Lair, released this week, being the 25th.Walkabout starts with a Day Mode with a hidden ball to find at each of the 18 holes. Night Mode rounds out the mini-golf experience by redesigning the courses and adding new surprises and scavenger hunt quests.
Mighty Coconut also revealed that they are also working on a fifth licensed course with another new partner.
