Viveport to Introduce 90% Developer Revenue Share</trp-post-container

HTC is improving its Viveport revenue share by offering a 90% split to developers of PC VR and Vive XR Elite.

HTC announced today at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) that the new revenue share will kick in on April 1, 2024 for new games and from March 1, 2024 for existing games. In a press release, the company said, "Developers will keep 90 percent of the revenue from one-time purchases of games and apps sold on VIVEPORT."

It's also a higher revenue split for developers than we're used to from digital stores, as most of them charge the standard 30% split.Quest and Steam are no exception, although Steam's popular store reduces the split to 25% once a game reaches $10 million in revenue, and to 20% once it reaches $50 million. As a result, Viveport's revenue split is comparable to the Epic Games store (88/12) and Itch.io's (90/10) default split.
