Immersed for Apple VisionProProvides a virtual extra Mac, Windows or Linux monitor.

For many years, Immersed has been providingMetaQuest, Vive Focus andPICOUsers are provided with PC monitor mirrors and additional virtual monitors, and the startup has also partnered with Qualcomm to design a headset specifically around this use case.

As with other headsets, the new Immersed Vision Pro app lets you generate up to four virtual monitors, for a total of five monitors, including your mirrored physical monitor. On visionOS, Immersed gives you two additional virtual monitors for free, with the other two extras unlocked through a $50 in-app purchase.

I tried Immersed on Vision Pro and found it to work, but the experience wasn't up to the same caliber as Apple's Mac virtual display. Focus rendering is noticeable (a Unity issue we noted in our Vision Pro review), gamma seems incorrect, virtual monitor positioning is rough and imprecise, and the quality of the connection will depend on your home network as it's not a direct connection. You also won't be able to run visionOS or iPadOS apps alongside it, as Immersed uses full space.

Nevertheless, being able to place Mac applications on a total of five monitors is very useful. In addition, Immersed supports Windows and Linux and can forward your virtual Persona webcam to your PC.

In our review of the Vision Pro, we described it as a giant portable monitor that fits in a backpack. With Immersed, it becomes five. But they're five lower-quality monitors that require a stable Wi-Fi connection and flicker when you shift your gaze.
