Xiaopai Technology was established in November 2015. In 2016, its first product Xiaopai 4K virtual reality headset came out, becoming the first commercial (left eye + right eye) 4K resolution headset. The first product was recognized as the best VR product in Asia at CES 2016.
In 2017, they conducted a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Pimax 8K headset, which raised approximately $4.2 million and holds the Guinness World Record for the most successful crowdfunded VR project. On December 19, 2017, Pimax announced the completion of a $15 million Series A round of financing.
On January 8, 2020, Xiaopai’s flagship headset—the world’s first dual-native 4K consumer VR headset—Vision 8K X, high-resolution super large field of view, 200°(D)/170°(H)/ 115°(V), selected as CES Top Tech: AR/VR by Digital Trends. On October 18, 2020, Xiaopai Technology announced at the 2020 World Virtual Reality Industry Conference (WCVRI) that it has received US$20 million in Series B financing.
